FREE BIRTH-TIME COMPARISON TOOL

Birth-Time Uncertainty Explorer

Compare selected rising-sign, angle, house, and Moon facts at sampled times around an approximate birth time. Private, no account, and not birth-time rectification.

Fictional calculated example

Alex Morgan's sampled comparison

These are dummy details, not customer data: Bucharest, Romania, 1990-06-15 at 14:30, sampled across ±120 minutes.

This committed fixture was generated with birth-time-uncertainty-v1. Its same and different states are calculated from the categories shown, not selected for effect.

Compare an approximate time

A centre time is required. If you do not have one, use the Big Three calculator's unknown-time mode, which withholds rising sign, houses, and angles.

Uncertainty window

Search is explicit and separate from calculation. Place data © OpenStreetMap contributors.

Start with the quality of the time

Recorded, approximate, and unknown are different inputs.

A recorded time is a time documented in a birth record; an approximate time is a remembered or rounded centre with acknowledged uncertainty; an unknown time supplies no defensible centre. U.S. birth-certificate data can record time in one-minute increments, but the existence of a field does not guarantee that every individual record is exact. See the CDC/NCHS time-of-birth definition and its birth-record specifications.

This explorer requires an approximate centre. If no approximate time is available, use the Big Three calculator's unknown-time mode; it withholds time-dependent facts instead of substituting noon.

What the method does

Resolve local civil time, calculate, then compare categories.

The entered date and local clock time are not UTC by themselves. The selected locality is used to resolve an IANA timezone, including historical UTC offsets and daylight-saving rules, before each sample is converted to UTC. The IANA Time Zone Database documents this history. A duplicated or nonexistent local time is surfaced for correction or an explicit occurrence choice rather than silently shifted.

Swiss Ephemeris supplies astronomical positions and the inputs used for angles and houses. Cosmic Oracle's comparison code then checks whether the displayed astrological sign or planet-house category matches across samples. Astronomical calculation and symbolic astrology interpretation are separate operations; this page does not present astrology as scientific validation of personality or future outcomes.

Placidus houses are requested. At absolute latitude 60° or higher, the current calculator applies Whole Sign houses to every sample because that is its declared high-latitude fallback. The result identifies the applied system instead of presenting the fallback as an unresolved chart.

Longitudes are shown to one decimal for transparency. Normal degree movement does not by itself make a row “different”: rising, Midheaven, Moon, and cusp rows compare signs, while planet rows compare house numbers.

Exact sparse schedules

Every window has a fixed three- or five-sample plan.

Exact local-time offsets sampled for each uncertainty window
WindowOffsets from centreSamples
±15 minutes−15, 0, +153
±30 minutes−30, −15, 0, +15, +305
±60 minutes−60, −30, 0, +30, +605
±120 minutes−120, −60, 0, +60, +1205

Sampling is intentionally non-continuous. It includes the centre and endpoints and may cross a local calendar date, but it does not inspect every minute or prove what happens between samples.

Keep calculation, interpretation, and next steps distinct.

The explorer shows calculated comparison facts only. For context, read why birth time matters, what the twelve houses mean, and what a chart ruler is, or follow the birth-chart learning path.

A personal report uses the birth time supplied as an input for a private symbolic interpretation. It does not rectify, find, or certify that time. You can inspect the fictional sample report or see what the personal report includes; explorer data is not transferred to either destination.

Questions about approximate birth times

Does this find my correct birth time?

No. It compares a few declared local times around the centre you provide. It does not rectify, verify, rank, or certify a birth time.

What if I have no approximate time?

Use the Big Three calculator's unknown-time mode. It avoids guessing and withholds the rising sign, houses, angles, and chart ruler.

Why can a degree move while a row says the same?

Degrees normally move between samples. Same means the sign or planet-house category is identical at every sampled time, not that the longitude is motionless.

Does the explorer inspect every minute?

No. Each preset uses exactly three or five fixed samples, including the centre and endpoints. A matching sampled category does not prove every minute between samples matches.

Is a personal result saved?

No. Birth details, the selected place, and the result remain in browser memory for the current tab and clear on refresh. The fictional demonstration is ordinary public page content.
